Keep your bandage or wrap on for 2–6 hours (or as advised). This protects your fresh tattoo from bacteria and helps reduce bleeding.
After removing the bandage, wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap. Use your hand, not a cloth. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel — no rubbing.
Once dry, apply a thin layer of fragrance-free tattoo aftercare ointment or lotion. Do this 2–3 times a day for the first week, but don’t overdo it — your skin needs to breathe.
For at least 2 weeks, avoid:
Expect light scabbing or flaking — don’t pick, scratch, or peel. Wear loose clothing over the area and keep it clean. Healing typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on size and placement.
This breathable, waterproof bandage protects your tattoo during its most sensitive phase. It helps reduce scabbing and keeps out dirt and bacteria.
– If it fills with fluid or leaks early, remove and replace it.
Sometimes the adhesive can cause redness or discomfort. If this happens, or if the seal breaks, gently remove it and switch to traditional aftercare (gentle washing, pat dry, light ointment).
Do this in the shower under warm water. Slowly peel it off in the direction of hair growth, keeping it low and close to the skin (like removing a sticker). Avoid pulling upward — it’s less painful this way.
Wash the area gently with lukewarm water and unscented soap. Pat dry. Then apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or tattoo ointment. Moisturize 2–3x daily as it heals.
Don’t pick, scratch, or over-moisturize. Avoid soaking, saunas, pools, and direct sun for 2–3 weeks. Your tattoo should peel lightly and settle in with minimal scabbing.
